Michael Krause
Operations Director

P.Eng
University of New Brunswick 1999

Michael Krause was appointed Operations Director of Newman Hattersley Limited (NHL) in 2008 having previously served in the roles of Sales Manager – CANDU, Project Coordinator, and Sales and Applications Engineer since 2002.  He has 10 years of Canadian and International experience in the nuclear industry.

Michael’s key responsibilities are to provide leadership and support to the Management team of NHL in overseeing the operation of the facility and maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Michael holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick.  Michael is also a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario, and sits on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Nuclear Association.

In Michael’s spare time, he enjoys travelling with his wife Jessica, playing hockey and golf, playing the acoustic guitar and listening to all types of music.

 
Nigel Van Zeller
Production Manager

Sheridan College Industrial Training Program in Quality Assurance
CGSB 48-9712 Level 2 Certification
Professional education credits in the following subjects: ASME Section III Div 1 and CAN CSA N285.0
Nigel’s production role focuses on the continuous improvement, efficiency and  productivity of the department, and is supported by over 25 years of Quality Assurance Management experience to deliver results that achieve our business objectives.

An effective problem solver, Nigel provides technical oversight and a thorough understanding of customer specifications, and regulatory standards. This  ensures his department  also maintains the integrity and quality of Newman Hattersley products, while achieving the goal of on time delivery.

A facilitative leader, Nigel also coaches and mentors new and existing team members to ensure performance standards are met.

In his spare time, Nigel enjoys the outdoors gardening, sailing and travel with his family.

 
Laura Day
Office Services Manager

Legal Secretarial Diploma – Humber College
Laura has been with NHL for over 10 years in various roles.  Her current position is that of Office Services Manager.  This role encompasses Corporate Services, Human Resource Administration, Environmental Health & Safety and Responsible Business initiatives for the site.

Laura enjoys playing golf and spending time with family and friends.

 
Siddhartha De
Director of Finance

CMA, B Com, Masters in Commerce Qualified Accountant from Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India, Certified Member of The Society of Management Accountants of Ontario.

Siddhartha as Director of Finance is responsible for all financial matters of the company which includes preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, banking, cash flow, risk management, taxation, Statutory Govt., reporting, costing, inventory management. He is also in charge of Capital Asset Management, interaction with Statutory auditors, assists in Internal audits and assists in development and improvement of various Management Information Systems.

Previously at his last place of employment, Siddhartha performed a Cost Audit which benefited the company in cost savings and reduction. He also actively worked on Corporate Tax Appeals which generated the firm significant refunds.

Siddhartha enjoys traveling to his favorite places and spending time with his family and friends.


   
Ramnik Bola

Materials & Sourcing Manager
Ramnik joined Newman Hattersley in July 2006 as our Materials Planner. Ramnik has brought his expertise to Newman Hattersley in the area of supply and materials management. Ramnik is now Newman Hattersley’s Materials & Sourcing Manager responsible for interfacing with vendors and subcontractors for expediting and receiving purposes. As well as sourcing, negotiating and purchasing for all areas of the business.
   
Terry Vrooman
Lean Product/Quality Manager

Metallurgical Engineering – Fanshawe College
Applied Chemistry   - University of Waterloo

Terry has global directives for instituting process optimization, lead time reduction, and ensuring Customer on-time delivery.

Terry has additional quality objectives to acquire ASME N-Stamp accreditation, providing additional market share for nuclear components to Newman Hattersley Limited.

Terry has numerous years of experience in nuclear, petro-chemical and EPC environments, supporting both quality and engineering functions.

In his spare time, Terry enjoys travelling with his wife and two sons, exploring international cultures.  He also enjoys gardening and outdoor photography.

   
David Scott
Engineering Manager

BBSc in Mechanical Engineering Queens University 2003
David is our Engineering Manager. David has been with Newman Hattersley since August 2006 and has grown in his initial role as a Professional-Engineering-in Training, by learning the nuclear business from the ground up. He also took on the challenge of Interim Engineering Manager in the Fall of 2008. David has recently received his Professional Engineer’s designation and stamp and was appointed as Engineering Manager in January 2009.
